Description

The City of Swift Current is currently accepting applications for the Utility Billing Clerk position within the Revenue and Collections department of the Corporate Services Division. Reporting to the Manager of Revenue and Collections, this role is primarily responsible for the utility billing processes. This includes all billing and reporting functions for electrical, water, recycling, and waste utilities. This position is responsible for ensuring a high level of accuracy for all data entry affecting utility accounts, data entry schedules, account analysis, and a working knowledge of the utility accounting function as it relates to the overall accounting system. This employee resolves customer complaints and ensures customer service quality while working within City policy. This position also works closely with other City departments as it relates to utility billing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of municipal bylaws, regulations, and procedures related to Utility Billing.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including accounting and billing software, Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally, tactfully and courteously with the public and internal staff.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across various platforms (in-person, phone, e-mail).
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing large volumes of data and information.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively across departments.
- Adaptability and openness to change in a dynamic work environment.
- Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
