The Mental Health & Addictions Coordinator (MHAC) will oversee the programs and services provided by the MHA Team which are comprised of: Indian Residential School (IRS) Support, Mental Health Therapy/Counselling and National Native Alcohol & Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP). The main responsibility of the Coordinator will be to manage and supervise MHA Team to ensure a holistic approach to healing is met utilizing the skills and knowledge of the professional staff of Willow Cree Health Services (WCHS) and that the programs and services provided are completed in the most effective and efficient way possible. Additional responsibilities include therapeutic counselling and communication, administrative duties such as report writing & submitting reports, some human resource support, and attending meetings when required.
Three or more years of Supervisory experience in area of mental health and addictions;
Leadership skills, team player and knowledge of team dynamics;
Knowledge of mental health issues in children, youth and adults;
Knowledge and experience with crisis intervention & trauma therapy;
Knowledge of the mental health system including referrals;
Knowledge of acute and chronic mental health issues and corresponding treatment;
Knowledge of case management;
Experience working on a First Nation community with an understanding of issues impacting First Nation people;
Knowledge of First Nation Culture an asset;
Experience of working with multiple budgets & work plans; and
Computer knowledge and software applications.
Valid drives license; and,
Maintain strict confidentiality
Criminal record and Vulnerable Security Clearance.
