The Town of La Ronge is seeking an enthusiastic individual to perform the duties of an equipment operator within the Public Works department. Reporting directly to the Transportation Lead Hand, this position will be responsible for performing general labour, maintenance, and repair associated with Town roads, ditches, sidewalks and public works facilities. Physical labour, including the use of small tools, and activities such as asphalt crack sealing are also required. As a condition of employment, the individual is expected to work year-round in a variety of weather conditions, and weekend or evening work may be required to assist with departmental operations. This is a full-time permanent position.
Qualifications for the position include: Grade 12 or equivalency; a valid class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license with air brake endorsement; and physically aptitude and able to lift up to 50lbs. Experience as an equipment operator, including operating a variety of heavy duty equipment, is considered an asset.
