Regina Immigrant Women Centre is a non-profit organization providing services to newcomer women and their families. RIWC is hiring a Caseworker to enhance newcomer access to social development services such as health care, housing, recreation, food and clothing to assist in their settlement in Regina.
Job Requirements
Complete an intake risk assessment upon initial contact and enter data into the database
Refer and coordinate client access to required medical, clinical, social services or other community resources, including housing, employment, food, clothing, recreational activities and other relevant services
Advocate on behalf of clients and their natural supports when appropriate
Develop a thorough client needs assessment and action plan focusing on strengths, identifying settlement barriers, and setting time-specific achievable goals also ensuring clients actively participate in decision-making throughout the process
Ensure timely completion of all required documentation, including file notes and reports, adhering to agency standards and maintaining confidentiality
Conduct research and compile statistics
Develop and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with stakeholders and community partners to ensure client needs are met
Provide occasional crisis intervention services through telephone or face-to-face contact, in the clients preferred environment
Plan and facilitate the weekly/monthly schedules for Recreation Through Arts and Life Skills Program (REALI)
Be available to work evenings and weekends
Qualifications
Degree, Diploma or Certificate from an accredited Post-Secondary Institution in a Human Services field is an asset
An understanding of the issues relevant to family violence
Knowledge of Sask. Social Services Income Assistance Plan is an asset
Familiarity with Regina community resources & their processes
