The successful candidate will work 1-1 with job seekers in the following areas:
Job Development:
Employer engagement and partnerships
Job matching and job coaching
Coordinate hiring/employer events
Employment Coordination:
Assist with resumes, cover letters, interview prep
Job readiness skills & job search strategies
Help identify career goals & training
Accessing community resources to address employment barriers
Case management & follow-up
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Work with marginalized community, understand barriers to employment
Build employer network, align job opportunities with job seekers skills/goals
Be informed on local labour market trends, community services and training
Assess strengths, employment interests & barriers
Find innovative ways to address needs/challenges, advocate accordingly
Develop individualized action plan with tailored strategies for short/long term goals
Provide consistent follow-up & case management
Strong communication skills, build rapport with participants
What sets you apart:
Experience supporting diverse populations with pre-employment and job search strategies
Understand community economic development practices
Knowledge of labour market trends, workplace practices, labour law
Strength in trauma-informed & strength-based approaches
Strong computer, documentation & reporting skills
Degree in Social Sciences/Social Work and/or equivalent work experience
Valid driver's license, access to vehicle required
