Description

The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement provides services to the public and other ministries that support efforts to build the economy and make a better life for all Saskatchewan people.

The Property Management Branch within SaskBuilds and Procurement is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our service team as a Tradesperson to provide support to correctional facilities in Saskatoon.

As a Tradesperson, you will apply your knowledge and expertise to maintain government-operated facilities in Saskatoon and the surrounding area, ensuring a safe and functional environment for customers and clients.

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will:

- Be flexible, responsible, and resourceful;
- Be well organized;
- Have general building repair and maintenance knowledge;
- Have knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, principles and practices related to building trades; and
- Be able to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, lifting and climbing.

You will posses a 5th Class Power Engineers Certificate or a Fireman's Boiler Operator Certificate and Refrigeration Operator Certificate. Training will be offered to the right candidate during the probation period. A Journeyperson trade certificate and/or skidsteer training would be considered an asset.

Standard shift is Monday through Friday day schedules; however, the successful candidate will also have the ability to work during evening hours, as well as weekends and holidays to accommodate a shared standby rotation of 24 hours for seven (7) days.
