Description

At Diamond House, part of the Golden Health Care family, we believe in creating a vibrant and connected community of Care, a place where residents feel at home, cared for, and deeply valued. We are currently seeking a creative, compassionate, and highly organized Activities Coordinator to join our team and lead engaging, meaningful programming for our residents.

As the Activities Coordinator, you will be at the heart of daily life at Diamond House. You will design and deliver a variety of social, recreational, cognitive, physical, and intergenerational programs that reflect our residents' diverse needs, interests, and abilities  helping each individual live fully, with dignity, joy, and connection.

What You Will Do:  Plan and facilitate daily group and 1:1 programs that promote wellness, creativity, and community.  Coordinate monthly calendars and seasonal events, from birthday parties to cultural celebrations.  Support the integration of community partnerships (schools, volunteers, local organizations).  Champion dementia-friendly approaches and trauma-informed care practices. Maintain accurate program attendance records and resident participation notes.
Collaborate closely with families, care staff, volunteers, and leadership to bring the Diamond House difference to life. Contribute to resident admissions, orientation, and person-centred care planning. Help create a home environment that's active, inclusive, and filled with purpose.

What We're Looking For:  Diploma/degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field, OR a combination of skills and experience preferred. Experience working in long-term care, memory care, or senior living settings is an asset. Compassionate, energetic, and engaging with strong organizational and communication skills. Able to adapt programming to various levels of cognitive and physical functioning.  Computer literacy, driver's license and a criminal records check, including vulnerable sector search, required.
