MLCFA is looking to bring our Kids Back Home and is looking for Child Care workers
DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
Provide high-quality care for the children living in the home that protects and enhances their spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional well-being
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured living environment that reflects and encourages Cree cultural values
Follow MLCFA Homes Policies and Procedures and actively participate in all aspects of the operation of the Home, Collaborate with co-workers, Home manager, and Directors in effective and respectful ways
Document daily activities, develop plans, maintain case files, and update logs (activity, medication, etc.)
Observe, assess, and document childrens development and learning. Share observations and ideas with managers, directors, and clinical professionals on child treatment plans, goals, strengths/challenges, and needs
Maintain strict confidentiality and protect the rights of children and families involved with MLCFA Homes, Participate in regular staff meetings and ongoing training and professional development
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 or GED 12 required; degrees, certificates, and diplomas in child/youth care, social work, or related areas preferred
Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle and act as a positive role model
Experience working with children and youth, especially those with behavioural challenges and complex needs
Awareness of Cree values, language, and culture and knowledge of Montreal Lake Cree Nation cultural, political and social objectives
Ability to form genuine, respectful, and trusting relationships
Strong writing and communication skills ability to create and maintain case files, daily logs, reports, and plans; ability to engage and communicate with children, families, and stakeholders
