RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To be the key personnel for customers on Building Material projects. Providing information, assistance and service to the customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet the needs, requirements and expectations of the customer.
2. Responsible for the appropriate supply of brochures and pamphlets and point of sale materials when required. Must advise Manager of special or out of stock merchandise requested by customer.
3. To assist in supervision, monitoring and otherwise ensure projects that are built and sold as complete projects are properly completed and to follow-up with customers, getting release documents signed where required.
4. Cash reconciliation. Must also maintain a constant alert against the unauthorized removal of merchandise.
5. Prepare quotes, take payments, receiving and invoicing, inventory control counters and control processes.
6. Responsible to adjust minor complaints in accordance with general sales policy and refer more serious complaints to the appropriate personnel.
7. Assist with training and development of staff, assist with supervising and scheduling staff.
8. Responsible for the care and use of forklifts, tools and other equipment.
9. Adhere to company loss prevention, security, and safety policies and procedures.
10. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have strong supervision, communication, merchandising and marketing skills. Previous Building Materials experience considered an asset. Must be organized, efficient and able to work at a quick pace in a busy team environment. Must be willing to obtain forklift, WHMIS certificates once hired, as a condition of employment. This position involves heavy lifting and requires a valid class 5 Drivers license or higher. This position is classified as Safety Sensitive Position: therefore, is subject to Pioneer Co-ops Alcohol and Substance Policy. Must be available for a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
