What youll accomplish:
-Provide direct supervision and mentorship of Metallurgy team and Lab
-Provide technical support/context to all Mill departments
-Assist with planning, scheduling and coordination of personnel and resources
-Fill in as department representative when Technical Superintendent is not on site
-Contribute to technical discussions and idea-sharing with R&D
-Ensure cross-checks are completed as related to routine reporting, taking lead in validation of monthly reporting
-Review reports of mill performance and reagent consumption and propose areas for improvement
-Attend operational and leadership meetings
-Provide input to the annual budgeting process, including identification of infrastructure and training
Qualifications and skills:
-A Bachelors degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGS
-8+ years industry experience, preferably within both operational and engineering environments
-Proficient in the conventional unit processes in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy
-Uranium ore processing experience is an asset
-Experience in project management will be an asset
-Working knowledge of the process data system SQL/Access and OSIsoft PI
-Working knowledge of risk assessment (HAZID/HAZOP) will be an asset
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
