McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the worlds largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
Position and Responsibilities
-Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment in all areas of the mine
-High voltage switching, overhead power lines, transformation and distribution, and AC/DC variable speed electric motor drive controllers
This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 90 days.
Requirements of the position:
-Valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson electrician ticket
-Five or more years of industrial experience as a journeyperson
-Familiar with high voltage switch gear systems and solid-state equipment, including programmable logic controllers, and AC/DC variable speed electric motor drive controllers
-Work underground
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
