Anchor & Thread is dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by gender-based violence in the Battlefords region. We take a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to ensure safety, dignity, and empowerment for those we serve. Our team works closely with community partners to strengthen support systems and create meaningful pathways toward healing and resilience.
The Community Connector / Support Worker plays a key role in linking clients to the supports they need while fostering strong community relationships. This position involves direct client support as well as outreach and collaboration with local agencies to strengthen referral pathways and community awareness.
Responsibilities:
Provide trauma-informed support and advocacy to individuals and families impacted by gender-based violence.
Connect clients with appropriate community resources, programs, and services.
Build and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance collaboration and strengthen support networks.
Promote awareness of Anchor & Thread services within the community.
Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with organizational and professional standards.
Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in a related human services field such as Psychology, Sociology, Indigenous Studies, Criminology, or Human Justice.
A combination of relevant education and extensive experience in community outreach, case management, crisis intervention, or justice system navigation may be considered.
Specialized training or certifications in areas such as trauma-informed practice, restorative justice, conflict resolution, or mental health first aid are highly desirable.
Some flexibility in scheduling may be required, including occasional evenings or community events.
