The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Provide group facilitation healing sessions to the participants who are in treatment
Encourage participants to engage in group healing sessions
Observe participants and refer to one-on-one counselling as needed
Plan and administer culturally relevant and holistic treatment to participants in group healing sessions
Monitor participants treatment progress and monitor their mental status
Aid participants in maintaining mental health stability
Complete annual training required such as crisis intervention training
Maintain confidentiality of records relating to participants and treatment plans at all times
Act as a participant advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
Provide one-on-one counselling to participants
Work with the Treatment Supervisor to develop healing sessions
Availability for rotation of being on call for treatment needs
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Minimum of 2-year diploma in; Chemical Dependency or Mental Health and Wellness
Minimum of 2 years of experience would be considered an asset
Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
Ability to provide Trauma informed Care
Possess conflict resolution skills
Excellent communication skills when interacting with professionals or participants
Ability to complete reports and communicate effectively through correspondence and procedure manuals
Ability to define problems, gather data, maintain confidentiality, organize facts, and make valid conclusions
High level of sound and independent judgement, reasoning, and discretion
Must be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, & SGI Driver Abstract
