Description

APEGS is the self-regulatory body that licenses and regulates over 17,000 engineers and geoscientists and 1,400 companies that practice in Saskatchewan. It protects the public by ensuring only qualified and ethical professionals are authorized to practice. As APEGS continues its business transformation, we are focused on updating regulatory practices and strengthening capacity in key areas including investigation and enforcement. If you are an experienced Investigator, we'd like to hear from you!

APEGS operates primarily as an in-office work environment in Regina, SK. However, this position allows for a hybrid office/remote arrangement due to the nature of the work. This position is permanent full time, 8:00am to 5:00pm

With leadership support from the Manager of Investigation and Enforcement, the Investigator uses case management skills to investigate matters of non-compliance and complaints against APEGS registrants and permit holders involving alleged professional misconduct, incompetence, or unlicensed practice under The Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act, 1997 (the Act) and Regulations.
The Investigator provides expert advice and support to the APEGS Investigation Committee, and works closely with members of the public, legal counsel, and internal regulatory staff throughout the complaint process.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of Investigative Experience (law firm, legal department, law enforcement, regulatory body, or equivalent).

Experience in relevant disciplines such as law, criminology, or business administration is an asset.

Demonstrated experience in:
- Conducting complex investigations and making evidence-based recommendations with impartiality, discretion, and procedural fairness; and
- Presenting information and supporting Boards or Committees in regulatory processes.
