Description

We are:
Headquartered in Saskatoon with three international offices, Canpotex is one of the world's largest suppliers of potash overseas. We market and deliver Saskatchewan potash, a valuable fertilizer nutrient, to millions of fields and farmers globally.

The Opportunity:
- Support all aspects of vessel chartering to meet Canpotexs freight needs within cost, quality, and timing objectives.
- Prepare and distribute vessel costing reports, voyage analyses, and shipping schedules; nominate vessels and handle contracts.
- Negotiate and charter vessels directly or through brokers, evaluate rerouting options, and maintain ocean cost estimates.
- Coordinate with Vessel Operations and Manager, Chartering on stowage, routing, and customer requirements to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor and report on ocean freight market trends; maintain market indices for management and board reports.

Youll Bring:
- a Bachelors degree or Diploma in Marine Transportation or a related field.
- Minimum three to five experience in dry bulk chartering or brokerage with knowledge of the ocean freight market and chartering policies and practices.
- Experience in vessel operations or an agency field is considered an asset.  

Talent Profile:
- Chartering Expertise: Understanding of chartering principles with the ability to identify, negotiate, and manage vessel charters to meet freight needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Relationship Building: Proven experience building trust and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including those across the ocean transportation industry (brokers, vessel operators, and other partners).
- Clear and Impactful Communication: Ability to convey complex chartering information, negotiate effectively, and ensure accurate reporting and coordination to support successful vessel operations.
- Flexibility and Responsiveness: Quickly adjusts to shifting priorities and the fast-paced ocean transportation industry.
