Position Overview:
As an Auto Body Shop Parts Person, you will be responsible for sourcing, ordering, and managing automotive parts and supplies essential for our collision repair services. You will work closely with the shop's technicians, ensuring the correct parts are available on time to keep operations running smoothly. This role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Order and track automotive parts and supplies for body shop repairs.
Communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and availability of parts.
Manage inventory levels and organize the parts storage area.
Assist technicians in locating and selecting appropriate parts for repairs.
Enter parts, materials, and sublet invoices into the management or accounting systems.
Process invoices, warranties, and returns with suppliers as needed.
Maintain accurate records of parts used and on order.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in auto body parts, automotive parts or related position.
Knowledge of automotive/body parts and collision repair processes.
Formal training in parts management is an asset.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Proficient in using computer systems for parts inventory, ordering, and invoicing.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
