Description

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Shop Hand to join our truck and trailer maintenance team. The Shop Hand plays a key support role in assisting mechanics, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring the shop operates safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in the heavy-duty mechanical or trucking industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist mechanics and technicians with repairs, maintenance, and inspections of trucks and trailers.
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as greasing, cleaning parts, and checking fluid levels.
Move trucks, trailers, and equipment around the yard or shop as directed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, yard, and tools.
Assist with inventory control and restocking of parts and supplies.
Operate tools and equipment safely and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Help with loading/unloading parts, tires, and other materials.
Perform general labor duties as needed to support the maintenance team.

Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in a mechanical, truck, or trailer shop environment is an asset but not required.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Valid Class 5 drivers license (Class 1A or 3A considered an asset).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in a shop setting.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
Team-oriented attitude and ability to follow direction.
