Description

We are seeking a student centered School Therapist to lead a comprehensive, culturally responsive therapy and wellness program. You will provide individual and group therapy, crisis response, classroom wellness sessions, and collaborative support with families, Elders/Knowledge Keepers, and outside agencies.

Duties (include but are not limited to):
- Provide brief, school based individual and group therapy using trauma informed, strengths based approaches (e.g., solution focused, CBT informed, land based wellness activities).
- Coordinate a comprehensive school therapy and mental wellness program (tiered supports/MTSS) with annual goals, calendars and data informed reviews.
- Deliver classroom wellness and psychoeducation sessions (K 8) on topics such as friendships, emotional regulation, digital safety, healthy relationships, grief/loss, mental health literacy and coping strategies.
- Lead or support crisis prevention and response, risk/safety planning, and re entry support following critical incidents.
- Collaborate closely with administrators, teachers, EAs, Elders/Knowledge Keepers, parents/caregivers, and community partners (health, CFS, MLTC, etc.).
- Support Individualized/Personalized Learning Plans and transitions.
- Maintain confidential clinical records and report appropriately; uphold professional/ethical standards.
- Coordinate referrals and follow up for specialized services (psychology, speech language, OT/PT, addictions, youth mental health).
- Promote attendance, behaviour, and wellness initiatives; lead small groups (e.g., social skills, anxiety, grief, restorative circles).
- Organize parent/caregiver workshops and staff PD on wellness topics; contribute to whole school wellness and land based programming.

Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:    
Required: Masters degree in counselling psychology, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology
