The Public Works & Transportation Supervisor will be responsible to deliver all public works services, including the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems, streets, equipment, buildings and green spaces. Weekend work hours may be required, contingent upon snow removal needs. This requirement is subject to vary based on weather conditions and operational demands.
Essential Job Functions
Initiate and perform all work related to roads, signage, snow removal, sidewalks, village property and green spaces.
Coordinate asphalt and pothole repairs, graveling and culvert maintenance.
Lawn care and maintenance of Village properties including the recreational facilities- cutting, spraying and trimming.
Day to day operation of the Water Treatment Plant as required by Saskatchewan Water Security Agency.
Quarterly water meter reading.
Lift station operation and lagoon maintenance.
Operate and maintain heavy equipment as needed (e.g. grader, tractor, mowers, trucks) Identify and carry out maintenance needs of vehicles, equipment and attachments.
Maintain inventory of tools, stock and equipment.
Annual/semi-annual jobs as required; such as install/remove speed bumps, flushing water line mains;
Maintenance of the Village Transfer Station.
Residential mowing and snow removal when requested.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Valid Class 5 driver license.
Mechanical aptitude or certification is considered an asset.
Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role, preferably in a municipal setting.
Strong working knowledge of municipal infrastructure and road maintenance.
Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
