About the Job
Youll review financial records, check reports, and make sure public funds are handled properly. Your work will help communities trust their local offices and know their money is in good hands.
Responsibilities:
Audit (check) financial records for municipal offices
Make sure money is used in the right way and rules are followed
Review budgets, spending, and reports
Spot mistakes or missing information
Write clear audit reports and share your findings
Give advice to improve how money is managed
Keep up with government and municipal rules
Work with municipal staff in a respectful and helpful way
Protect private information and follow confidentiality rules
What You Bring:
CPA designation (required) - Please do not apply if you do not have the current CPA designation
Experience auditing, preferably with government or public sector clients
Strong knowledge of Canadian municipal rules and accounting standards
Very detail-oriented and able to spot small errors
Clear communicator who can explain audit results in plain words
Good at managing deadlines and multiple projects
Friendly, professional, and a good listener
Bonus Points if You Have:
Experience with municipal or provincial government offices
Understanding of public sector accounting standards (PSAS)
Skills in using audit software and data analysis tools
