Description

The Ministry of Finance supports excellence in governance and public administration through economic, financial, and fiscal expertise, leadership, and services. The Revenue Division administers and enforces consumption and other taxes that generate approximately $5B annually for the Government of Saskatchewan, including PST, Tobacco Tax, Fuel Tax, Vapour Products Tax, and Liquor Consumption Tax.

The Revenue Division is seeking two experienced, respected, and motivated law enforcement professionals to join as Revenue Investigators. These positions involve conducting investigations into PST compliance, illicit tobacco possession and sale, misuse of tax-exempt fuel, and other provincial tax offences. Investigators will gather intelligence, conduct surveillance, seize property/products, issue summary offence tickets, and work with court processes. Priority areas include PST and Tobacco Tax.

Ideal candidates will have completed an accredited Police Academy, College, or RCMP recruit training program and possess practical enforcement experience. You must interpret and apply federal and provincial statutes, policies, and agreements related to taxation; work independently or in a team; plan and prioritize work; and build partnerships with individuals and agencies. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicts with violators, complainants, and stakeholders are essential.

Working conditions include extensive day travel with an assigned vehicle, some overnight stays, shift work, joint check stops with other enforcement agencies, and searches in confined spaces or elevated areas.
