Description

Community Living Service Delivery (CLSD), Crisis and Respite Services supports individuals with intellectual disabilities by delivering assessment and stabilization services that promote quality of life and community inclusion. Brigham Home in Moose Jaw is hiring five Relief Community Residential Workers to start as soon as possible. This role is ideal for caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a meaningful difference.

We are seeking candidates who are proactive, adaptable, and committed to person-centered care. You should welcome challenges, embrace change, and demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. Building trust and rapport with individuals, families, and stakeholders is essential. You will model positive behavior, apply de-escalation techniques, and maintain a calm approach during behavioral escalations to ensure safety and well-being.

Key responsibilities include providing direct support focused on holistic care, implementing individualized behavior strategies, assisting with daily living activities such as hygiene and meals, fostering independence through life skills development, and transporting individuals as needed. Shift work is required in a 24/7 program, with 8-hour shifts. Successful candidates must be legally eligible to operate a Ministry-supplied vehicle.

Typically, knowledge and skills are gained through 23 years of post-secondary education in a human services field such as Disability Support Work, Psychology, or Social Work, or through related experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and complex behaviors. A positive, client-focused attitude and respect for diversity are essential. Thorough onboarding and safety training, including PART, are provided.
