POSTION REQUIREMENTS
Available to work days/evenings and weekends as scheduled (extended hours on occasion).
Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
Adheres to Co-ops dress code (uniform, hat/hairnet).
Maintains a clean and safe work-space environment.
Endure medium to high levels of physical exertion (standing, bending, lifting)
Equipment operation (weigh scales, meat slicers, pallet jack, etc.)
Strong oral and written communication skills with customers (in-person and telephone)
Observes Co-ops code of conduct, policies and store rules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greeting customers, ensuring outstanding customer services is provided in the department at all times.
Preparing, assembling, displaying and merchandising of products.
Maintaining adequate inventory levels and stock controls procedures.
Meeting or exceeding all operational objectives and administration requirements for the department.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
Minimum 1 year meat cutter experience.
Supervisor/team lead experience will be considered an asset.
Communication skills: Position is the first line of contact with our customers.
Key skills required include:
o Speaking and engaging with customers in a calm, effective and friendly manner.
o Listening skills.
Basic mathematics: Require to estimate prices and weigh product for customers.
Stamina: This position often stands for long periods of time and are required to lift medium to heavy objects.
Job commitment: Punctual and able to work variable shifts assigned by the Branch Store Manager.
Role engagement: Ability to work with positive attitude and high level of energy.
Responsibility success: Effectively manage and complete all aspects of key responsibilities.
Collaborative approach: Works with with others and enjoys being part of a team.
Successful applicant must be willing to travel to another town/city to obtain on the job training.
