We are hiring a Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker for Community Corrections in Estevan. This role supports adults and youth through an integrated, collaborative approach, delivering programs and services that encourage rehabilitation and community safety.
We seek candidates who can work with diverse populations, respect cultural and spiritual beliefs, and build strong relationships with clients and community partners. You will need strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage complex cases and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications include a university degree or two-year diploma in fields such as Correctional Studies, Justice Studies, Social Work, Mental Health, or related disciplines, or meeting grandfathering provisions. Foreign credentials must be assessed against Canadian standards. Knowledge of criminal behaviour factors, intervention strategies including cognitive-behavioural approaches, and systemic barriers impacting individuals and communities is essential.
Responsibilities may include conducting risk assessments, developing case management plans, preparing court reports, performing home and community assessments, initiating interventions, and collaborating with agencies. Travel and flexible hours, including evenings, are required. A valid drivers license is mandatory.
