Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking an individual to serve as our Support Technician, under the direction of the Information Services Manager.  The Support Technician is responsible for first level support of all hardware, software and a wide variety of computer systems and applications.
Their main duties include:
- Diagnose and resolve requests for technical assistance by users under pressure of deadlines.
- Receive, log and prioritize support requests.
- Work closely with other department staff to resolve complex problems and escalate issues as required.
- Set up and deploy new devices including computers, tablets, smartphones, printers and other electronics as required including the client side setup of software.
- Update documentation and equipment inventory to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Qualified Applicants will possess:

- Completion of a relevant post-secondary certificate or completion of the first year of a recognized 2 year post-secondary diploma program in Computer Engineering or Business Information Systems or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience repairing and maintaining personal computers.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license and personal vehicle for work use.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in resolving complex problems efficiently and effectively under pressure.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- CompTIA A+ or ITIL Foundations or other relevant certifications would be considered an asset.
