Anchor & Thread Community Services is committed to supporting survivors of interpersonal violence and abuse by providing compassionate, client-centered services. We strive to ensure every individual receives the guidance and resources they need to navigate the justice system safely and effectively.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Justice Navigation Support Worker to join our team. This role involves supporting clients through the justice system, helping them understand their rights, and connecting them to necessary resources and services. The successful candidate will have strong advocacy skills, a client-centered approach, and a passion for supporting survivors of interpersonal violence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and support to clients navigating the justice system
Assist clients in understanding legal processes, paperwork, and court procedures
Connect clients with relevant community resources and services
Maintain accurate documentation and case notes in line with organizational policies
Collaborate with internal team members and external partners to ensure holistic support
Working with Police based Victim Services and RCMP
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in a related human services field such as Psychology, Sociology, Indigenous Studies, Criminology, or Human Justice.
A combination of relevant education and extensive experience in community outreach, case management, crisis intervention, or justice system navigation may be considered.
Registration or eligibilityrwith the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW) is considered an asset.
Specialized training or certifications in areas such as trauma-informed practice, restorative justice, conflict resolution, or mental health first aid are highly desirable.
Knowledge of Indigenous cultural safety, community-based supports, and the justice system
Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
