Location: Broadway Terrace and Milton Heights

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Worker to join our team. Reporting to the Support Service Manager, you will help keep our buildings, suites, and grounds safe, efficient, and well-maintained. This hands-on role is varied, including preventive maintenance, general repairs, assisting residents, and coordinating contractors, all contributing to a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, fire safety, lighting, etc.).

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and tenants.

Complete general repairs (carpentry, painting, plumbing, appliance servicing).

Maintain grounds and exterior areas (snow removal, lawn care, seasonal upkeep).

Monitor safety systems such as fire alarms and emergency lighting.

Assist with suite turnovers and inspections for new residents.

Coordinate and supervise contractors as needed.

Provide courteous and professional service to residents and staff.

Be available for on-call emergencies as required.

Qualifications:

25 years experience in building or facilities maintenance.

Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire panels, mechanical controls).

Ability to troubleshoot and complete minor to moderate repairs independently.

Fireman Boiler Operator Certificate (required).

Valid Class 5 drivers license; additional safety certifications (WHMIS, First Aid, confined space) are an asset.

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform manual work.

Organized, safety-conscious, and a strong problem solver.

Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Comfortable using basic computer programs for work tasks.
