Under the supervision of the TB Advisor, the TB Nurse supports NITHA Partners in planning and implementing the community-based TB program. Provide education, training, and guidance to reduce TB incidence and support prevention strategies. Maintains regular communication with TB Program Workers and CHNs to support Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) programs. Organize and conduct contact tracing, consultations for tuberculin skin testing, sputum collection, x-rays, and post-trace follow-up. Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating orientation programs for community health personnel.
Qualifications:
-Bachelors Degree in Nursing; new graduates welcome; training provided.
-Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
-Knowledge of health promotion related to TB and other communicable/non-communicable diseases.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
-Demonstrated confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
-Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution abilities.
-Proficient computer skills (Panorama IOM, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases).
-Experience working with or within a First Nations organization and/or knowledge of a First Nations language is an asset.
-Valid Class 5 Drivers License required.
