Description

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior strategic senior management leader responsible for overseeing all financial aspects within funding agreements of Yellow Quill First Nation and its entities. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the CFO partners with Chief and Council and all Program senior management to develop, implement and monitor collaborative financial strategies that support the Nations short and long term of accountability, transparency, sustainability, strong policy governance and annual audit processes.

Financial Leadership & Strategy:
Advise C&C and DOO on global budgets, financial outcomes, risks and opportunities.
Provide financial innovative insights and recommendations for short to long term planning, investments and Nation-building projects and initiatives.
Establish financial directive tools, policy and systems amongst entities to provide timely, actionable and operational processes and procedures aligned to delivery objectives.

Financial Operations & Management:
Oversees all financial functions, including annual and multiyear budgeting processes, debt and innovative financing, audits and day to day administration with all entities.
Implement and maintain robust cash-flow management and policy procedures to ensure program/entity management capacity and responsibilities in partnership.
Ensure effective communication and financial controls, risk management strategies, and compliance with financial regulations and policy.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulations set by Chartered Professional Accountants Canada.
Oversees and collaborates with programs/entities in the preparation of all financial reports, GLs, ISC Fund Agreements Reporting Requirements, annual audits for accuracy and integrity in reporting to Funding agencies, lenders and regulatory bodies.
Design and deliver Financial operational training workshops and skill sets for senior management on budget planning, audit, etc.
