The Family Support Worker provides intensive, hands-on support to children, youth and families through supervised family time, in-home services, advocacy, and follow-up based on Ministry of Social Services case plans. The role is designed to promote child safety, build parental capacity, and support safe and timely reunification whenever possible. The FSW works as part of a multidisciplinary team an is expected to balance direct service delivery, accurate documentation and collaboration with Child Protection Workers, internal colleagues,
and community partners. Services are delivered in a manner that is culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strength-based, reflecting Eagle Heart Centre's values and universal competencies.
Qualifications
- Deliver services in line with schedules and case plans established by the Team Lead
- Model ethical decision-making, professional boundaries, and integrity in all interactions.
- Exceptional oral and written communication
- Excellent time management
- Team oriented with strong independent skills
- Must have knowledge understanding and sensitivity to cultural and
traditional parenting practices
- Able to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends
- Criminal Record Check required
- CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Drivers Abstract, Valid Drivers license and a reliable/insurable
vehicle
Education: Grade 12, post Secondary education in Human Services, Youth Care, Social Work, Indigenous Studies or related field is an asset. Experience working with children, families or in a human service environment an asset.
