Description

Baydo Development Corporation is seeking a full time on Contract Journeyperson Tower Crane Operator in Saskatoon. Candidates must be able to demonstrate prior experience in hoisting. The Tower Crane Operator is responsible for operating the crane to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials in designated spots in a safe and appropriate manner, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies, and procedures operating crane. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Contract length is 1-year.

Job Description

Check and diagnose heavy equipment using approved circle check procedures before operating them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance.
Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
Clean, lubricate, and perform other minor maintenance work.
Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.
Instruct apprentice.

Requirements

Must possess a Journeyperson Tower Crane Operators certificate.
Must have 3-5 years experience working in heavy construction environment.
Knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance techniques.
Must be able to calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
Demonstrate organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
Valid WHIMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, and Rigging certificates are preferred.
Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
