Cigar Lake
Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the worlds highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
The Role
Reporting to the supervisor, maintenance, the heavy duty mechanic utilizes their trade to ensure Cigar Lakes heavy equipment is effectively maintained and fit for service. The underground heavy duty mechanic works to ensure that mine development mobile heavy equipment is operating efficiently and reliably. The safe, effective efforts of the tradesperson in this role play an important part in the success of our operation.
In this role, you will:
-Work primarily underground, though some work on surface may be required.
-Work both individually and as part of a team to service underground heavy equipment, following our preventative maintenance schedule.
-Perform preventative maintenance inspections, lubrications, troubleshoot equipment failures, complete overhauls, and conduct repair work as needed.
Required:
-Valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson heavy duty equipment mechanic
-Five years of related experience with mine development mobile heavy equipment maintenance
-Ability to utilize OEM diagnostic software
-Team player with good communication skills
-Excellent safety record
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
-Familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking using SAP
