The Role

In this position, we are seeking individuals from Saskatchewans north who would like to pursue journeyperson certification in the industrial mechanic trade. The industrial mechanic apprentice will report to the supervisor, maintenance, and will utilize the on-the-job training, work experience, and technical education they receive as they progress to fully qualified journeyperson status.
In this role, you will:
-Assist journeyperson industrial mechanics in the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical equipment on site;
-Work on equipment repair and service, both on surface and underground;
-Assist with preventative and predictive maintenance and commissioning activities;
-Progress through an apprenticeship program to journeyperson certification.
Required:
-Grade 12 diploma or equivalent (you must provide a copy of your grade 12 or equivalent transcript with your application to be considered);
-Meet minimum acceptable standards as identified in one or more of the following personal assessment tools: General Aptitude Test Battery (GAT B), Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT), Prior Learning and Recognition (PLAR), or Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES);
-Meet all qualification standards to be accepted for a training apprenticeship by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC);
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
-Previous mechanical experience;
-Industrial experience, ideally with mining operations.
