Overview:
As part of the Department of Protective Services, the City of Humboldt is currently seeking to fill a permanent, full-time Planning and Development Coordinator position.
Under the direction of the Director of Protective Services, the Planning and Development Coordinator is responsible for municipal planning, permitting, and compliance for land and building developments within the City. The position works closely with other City departments to contribute to Humboldts overall growth and development goals.
The successful candidate will process development proposals, subdivision revies, and development permits; ensure compliance with applicable legislation and bylaws; prepare reports and recommendations for Council, committees, and public hearings; and assist with conceptual and future land development planning. The role also includes field inspections, mapping, and administrative duties related to planning and development functions.
Qualifications:
University Degree or Technical Institute Diploma in Planning or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Proficiency in computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and GIS Products.
Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Acts and Regulations, as well as local Bylaws and Polices related to the functions of the position.
Excellent communication, organizational, and customer services skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality.
Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License.

Compensation:
This is an out-of-scope position with a salary range of $74,245 - $90, 258 (2025 rates) The City offers a comprehensive benefits package covering health, dental and vision, with a 9% matching pension plan.
