Description

We are seeking an experienced individual to oversee the daily operations of our early learning center. This leadership role involves managing administrative, financial, and human resource functions while ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, inclusive early childhood education program. Key responsibilities include promoting inclusive, developmentally appropriate programming, ensuring compliance with all government requirements, maintaining annual licensing, overseeing accurate record-keeping, budgeting, and financial reporting. The candidate will recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers while managing daily scheduling, staffing ratios, and operational logistics. Supporting staff development and conducting performance evaluations are essential, alongside applying for grants and tracking related requirements. Candidates will maintain enrollment through community outreach and program excellence and facilitate alternate programs like Before and After School Program. Effective communication with families and encouraging their engagement is crucial, as is acting as a liaison between staff, families, and the Board of Directors. Participation in professional organizations and contribution to policy and procedure development are also important. A minimum two-year diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent ECE Level III certification is required, though we are open to applying for an exemption for the right candidate committed to obtaining certification. A Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector search is required. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in an early learning and childcare setting, proven management and leadership experience, knowledge of The Child Care Regulations, experience working with a non-profit Board, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, and proficiency with computers, (QuickBooks and Microsoft Office), along with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
