Description

The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is seeking a motivated and compassionate Grade 2 Teacher for Father Megret Elementary School in Hatchet Lake, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to project-based learning, and the ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom that reflects Denesuline culture and language.

ADEA serves over 1,400 students across the northern communities of Black Lake, Hatchet Lake, and Fond Du Lac First Nations. We are dedicated to improving educational outcomes through innovative programs, technology integration, and culturally grounded learning experiences.

This position offers a competitive salary following the provincial grid, a northern allowance, subsidized housing, and a comprehensive benefits package including vision, dental, life insurance, and pension. Teachers are supported by a collaborative team of educators and central office staff who share a commitment to student success and well-being.

Key responsibilities include planning and delivering effective instruction, assessing and documenting student learning, fostering family engagement, and maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. The teacher will follow Saskatchewan curriculum and support the holistic development of each studentsocially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Education, eligibility for a Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate, and experience working with children. Experience in First Nations education and First Aid certification are assets.
