Description

The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) invites applications for a full-time Grade 5 Teacher position at Father Megret Elementary School in Hatchet Lake, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and a commitment to project-based learning that fosters curiosity, growth, and cultural connection in the classroom.

ADEA serves approximately 1,400 students across the northern Denesuline First Nations communities of Black Lake, Hatchet Lake, and Fond Du Lac. The Authority strives to enhance educational outcomes through innovative programs, the use of modern technology, and the integration of Denesuline culture and language into daily learning experiences.

This position offers a competitive salary aligned with the provincial teacher salary grid, a northern allowance, subsidized housing, and comprehensive benefits including vision, dental, life insurance, health coverage, and a registered pension plan. Teachers are supported by strong school and central office teams dedicated to creating positive, inclusive learning environments.

Key responsibilities include planning and delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining a safe and engaging classroom, assessing and documenting student learning, and building meaningful relationships with students, families, and the community. The successful candidate will follow the Saskatchewan curriculum and promote holistic student development across academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual domains.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Education and be eligible for a Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate. Experience teaching First Nations students or in northern/remote communities, as well as First Aid certification, are considered assets.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, rsum with three references, and a recent Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening, addressed to the ADEA Hiring Lead.
