Description

The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) invites applications for a full-time Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Father Megret Elementary School in Hatchet Lake, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be a caring, creative, and motivated educator who fosters curiosity, early learning, and positive relationships in a culturally responsive classroom.

ADEA serves approximately 1,400 students across the Denesuline First Nations communities of Black Lake, Hatchet Lake, and Fond Du Lac in northern Saskatchewan. The Authority is dedicated to improving educational outcomes through technology, innovative programs, and the integration of Denesuline language and culture into the curriculum.

This position offers a competitive salary aligned with the provincial teacher salary grid, a northern allowance, subsidized housing, and comprehensive benefits including vision, dental, life insurance, extended health, and a registered pension plan. Teachers are supported by experienced colleagues and central office staff who share a commitment to student growth and well-being.

Key responsibilities include planning and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons, supporting early literacy and numeracy, documenting and assessing student learning, and engaging families in their childs educational journey. The teacher will promote holistic development across social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual domains, while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment.

Applicants must hold an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level 1, 2, or 3 certification and be eligible for a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate. Experience working with young children, especially in First Nations or northern communities, and First Aid certification are considered assets.
