The Role
Cameco is looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our geology team on a permanent basis at our McArthur River operation located in northern Saskatchewan.
In this role, you will:
-Be responsible for diamond core logging, underground diamond drilling, and underground development mapping, designing, and monitoring.
-Support the data management, data quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and radiometric probing/scanning.
-Assist with geological and resource modelling and estimations, weekly production reporting, and implementing innovation.
-Perform light field tasks such as sample collection and equipment handling.
Required:
-Bachelors degree in geology or equivalent
-Minimum of five years of relevant geological experience
-An equivalent combination of work experience and education would be considered
-Eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
-Ability and willingness to work in physically active environments, including walking on uneven terrain on surface and underground, standing for extended periods, and performing light field tasks
-Valid class 5 drivers license
-Safety-oriented work attitude
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
-Previous work experience with uranium-specific stope reserve modelling, radiometric probing of blast holes, and production reconciliations
-Experience working in an underground work environment
-Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Working knowledge of geological database and mining software, such as AcQuire, Vulcan and/or Leapfrog
