Description

Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc. (BRT6HC) is seeking a dedicated and creative Communications and Engagement Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Personnel within the Finance and Operations Department, this position provides support and assistance to the Communications team in implementing strategic communications initiatives that enhance engagement, visibility, and alignment with BRT6HCs mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities and Duties

Support the development and implementation of the organizations external and internal communication strategies, including media/public relations, marketing, and employee communications.
Assist in managing and developing content for social media channels and digital platforms.
Contribute to the creation and execution of marketing and communication materials, such as newsletters, website content, brochures, and organizational publications.
Update and maintain the organizations website and digital presence.
Support internal communications related to agency-wide initiatives and programs.

Qualifications

Training or certification in Media, Communications, or a related field; working toward a designation would be considered an asset.
Previous experience working with First Nations communities, with understanding and sensitivity to the health and social issues they face.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Teams.
Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Demonstrates confidentiality, professionalism, and respect in all communications.
Knowledge and understanding of traditional First Nation values, beliefs, and healing approaches, and a willingness to learn and respect First Nations cultures.
Must successfully complete a criminal record check and possess a valid drivers license.
