The Opportunity
We are looking for dynamic individuals who are devoted to helping others and improving the lives and well-being of children and families to join our team as a Child Protection Assistant Supervisor. In this role, you will supervise, manage, and implement programs designed to provide protective, preventative, and support services to children, parents, and foster families utilizing the Family Centered Case Management Model and P.R.I.D.E. Model of Practice.
In this position, you will:
- Coach, mentor, and train staff, as the expert and role model on your team.
- Demonstrate leadership exemplified by respect and empowerment, in order to encourage employees to achieve success.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff in the absence of the supervisor, concerning placements of children and supporting caregivers with children in care.
- Assist with service delivery between Child and Family division programs, work units, and partner agencies.
- Be knowledgeable about Ministry policies and procedures, as outlined in the Child and Family Services Act, Family/Childrens Service, and PRIDE Manuals.
- Act as a liaison with First Nations CFS and community agencies, with service delivery and decisions.
- You may represent your unit, Ministry, or region on community or internal committees.
To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW/CASW or CASWE.
