DUTIES:
Build effective displays and maintain current general knowledge of hardware merchandising.
Ordering, receiving, examining, unpacking, pricing and warehousing merchandise.
Preparation of merchandise for courier and customer pickup.
To provide prompt, courteous service to members and customers, in all areas of the Department.
Handle minor complaints and refer major complaints to Supervisor.
To assist in taking inventory and to be alert for slow moving lines, unnecessary duplication of merchandise and incorrect pricing.
To perform spot checks on inventories to maintain inventory counts.
Upkeep of receiving documentation.
To be constantly alert for unauthorised removal of merchandise.
Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
Unloading weekly orders from FCL and outside suppliers.
On-line claims for defective merchandise and warranted merchandise.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade XII education or equivalent work experience.
Must have demonstrated knowledge / experience of hardware retail operations.
Previous knowledge of TRC -The Retail Controller system a definite asset.
Ability to supervise others and to work with minimal supervision.
Must be physically fit as lifting of heavy items is required.
Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in Hardware Industry.
Must have valid operator's licence.
Transport of Dangerous Goods certification is required.
Congenial attitude and a self-starter with appropriate personal professional presentation.
Must be bondable.
Membership in Sherwood Co-op a prerequisite.
Participation in direct payroll deposit program.
