Family Service Saskatoon is launching a vital initiative to address the intersection of firearms & intimate partner violence (IPV), with a focus on rural & underserved communities in Sk. To lead the development & delivery of educational modules that promote awareness, empower communities, & support access to Red Flag Laws.
Design & develop in-person workshops, online modules, & a professional training module
Ensure content is inclusive, trauma-informed, & culturally sensitive
Deliver workshops & presentations regularly to various agencies, educational institutions and organizations
Adapt delivery methods formats
Build & maintain relationships with stakeholders to support project goals & sustainability
Create print, digital, and recorded materials for public access
Promote knowledge sharing & long-term accessibility of resources
Track participation, feedback, & outcomes to assess impact & inform ongoing improvements
Administrative/record keeping duties
Able to work independently & as a team
Perform work outside of regular operating hours, including evenings &/or weekends
Perform other duties needed
Education
BSW, Education, Community Development, or a related field
Knowledge
Experience in facilitation, curriculum development & community engagement
Knowledge of IPV, firearm-related risks & Red Flag Laws
Experience working with survivors of violence/trauma
Familiarity with justice & law enforcement systems
Strong understanding of rural & Indigenous community dynamics in SK
Knowledge of community resources & services
Knowledge of trauma-informed & anti-oppressive practices.
Culturally sensitive & adept at working with Indigenous, immigrant, refugee & newcomer populations.
Excellent communication, organizational & interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in digital tools for online learning & content creation.
Valid drivers license & access to a personal vehicle
