Responsibilities:
Industrial Hygiene:
-Participate in developing and deploying the Industrial Hygiene Program and tools such as Air Sampling Campaigns, Hearing Conservation Program, and the Respiratory Protection Program, etc.
-Perform industrial hygiene risk assessments (quantitative/qualitative)
-Participate in the development of sampling strategies
-Conduct sampling campaigns
Radiation Protection:
-Carry out all measurements prescribed in procedures and work instructions
-Record data collected and input into records and databases
-Perform and coordinate calibration and maintenance of measuring devices and systems
-Train/mentor all employees
-Provide assistance and advice to employees on radiation and radiation protection
-Establish and maintain procedures, work instructions and forms
-Teach Advanced Radiation Protection courses and prepare/attend safety huddles
-Draft internal/ regulatory reports
-Plan daily schedules to accomplish the prescribed monitoring program
-Respond to situations where it may be necessary to investigate, eliminate and/or control unacceptable radiation exposure
Skills and Qualifications:
-Certification or active pursuit of the following certification is required:
o Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician
o Radiation Safety Officer
-Significant experience, certification and/or active pursuit of technical knowledge in Industrial Hygiene and Radiation Protection
-Demonstrated ability to teach and speak publicly
-Excellent computer skills in spreadsheets, data management systems
-Technical reading and writing skills are required
-Proficiency using SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Office
-Ability to supervise technical staff
-Familiarity with the operation of agencies such as CNSC, Sask Labour, etc.
-A valid drivers license
