DESCRIPTION
The community health nurse works together with Sturgeon Lake First Nation to deliver a professional, ethical, culturally sensitive, and responsible care throughout the life span. . The community health nurse uses the Holistic Wellness Model of care as the basis for all practice and will work under the supervision of the Senior Health Nurse.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or diploma in Nursing
Eligible for registration in Saskatchewan
Strong facilitation skills
Minimum 3-5 years related nursing experience required
Ability to work effectively within a holistic team approach
Willingness to attend community health training programs as required
A current satisfactory Criminal Record (CPIC)
Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
An ability to speak or understand Cree is an asset
Strong commitment to holistic health prevention, promotion and community development
Able to work independently
DUTIES
Deliver comprehensive care of service as outlined in Sturgeon Lake Community Health Nursing Programming (ie: chronic, immunization, etc) and NITHA RN Specialty Practices , Protocols, Policies /Procedures
Develops and implements culturally sensitive approaches to nursing care for individuals, families, groups and the community
Work in collaboration with home care staff and health team and is responsible for assessment, planning, and delivering community health program.
Attend staff meetings other professional meetings, conference and trainings.
Maintain confidentiality in written, oral and electronic (cEMR, E-Viewer, Panorama etc.)
Provide primary care services (walk-in etc.)
Other duties that may be assigned within your scope of practice.
