Description

Hours of Work: 37.5 weekly  1p to 9p  Monday to Friday  On Call weekend every 4-6 weeks

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Joans Place and the general supervision of the Director of Shelter, the Harm Reduction Program Coordinator is responsible for providing integrated case coordination and harm reduction services to women residing at Joans Place.
This role supports individuals with complex care needs, including mental health challenges, substance use, and housing instability through trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches. The coordinator works collaboratively with shelter teammates, outreach teams, and community partners to ensure responsive, client-centered support and continuity of care.

Administrative Duties

Qualifications:  
Experience working with Indigenous communities and cultures
Bachelors degree in Social Work, Justice Studies, or related human service field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 2 years of case management experience preferred
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and homelessness
Knowledge of Child Welfare, Trauma-Informed Care, and Family Violence are assets
Strong independent and team-based work skills
Accurate record-keeping and basic computer proficiency (HIFIS experience is an asset)
Training and facilitation experience
Strong communication, organizational, and crisis intervention skills
Cultural awareness and respect for diverse backgrounds
Valid Class 5 drivers license
Valid First Aid/CPR certification
