The City of Swift Current is currently accepting applications for the Accounts Receivable Clerk position. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for invoicing accounts receivable, preparing monthly account statements, monitoring signed contracts for billing purposes, monthly reconciling of general ledger accounts, preparing monthly GST and PST returns, entering and importing journal entries, preparing golf course revenue journal entries and reports, applying payments to accounts in various programs, verifying cash deposits from various facilities and preparing bank deposits, preparing rental deposit refund information from facilities for Accounts Payable, and performing year end functions.
Required Qualifications
- A two-year accounting diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in accounting, finance or business-related functions.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting processes, as well as legislation and regulations as applicable to the position.
- Ability to collect, organize, enter and distribute large volumes of information with attention to detail and accuracy, in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently and with a self-directed approach, as well as the ability to work well with multidisciplinary teams, all levels of staff and management.
- Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer application skills, specifically with Microsoft 365, Oracle Fusion Financials, and other related software.
- Completion of Respect Group Training and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check are required upon hire.
