Description

We are currently looking to hire 3 casual employees at Haven Kids' House. Hours include both day and night shifts, as it is a 24-hour facility. Must be willing and able to work 12-hour day shifts and 12-hour night shifts. We are seeking candidates who are inspired to support families in crisis and are excited about committing to this work long-term. There may be job openings for full-time in the spring.

Job duties include phone and interpersonal skills for our crisis line (supporting families in crisis), childcare for children newborn to age 12, intake procedures (paperwork, documentation, etc.), community interactions (community agency interactions, and community donations), housework (cooking, cleaning), and other various jobs.

A general knowledge of community services and resources is a valuable asset. We value diversity in our workplace.

Former childcare experience and a harm-reduction mentality are necessary. A calm and caring presence in crisis is critical. Position also requires applicant to be child focused and self-motivated to play and interact with the children.
