The Ministry of Social Services is hiring a full-time permanent Community Services Worker in the Yorkton office (South Service Area). The Community Living Service Delivery branch supports individuals with intellectual disabilities by helping them access community-based services and live as independently as possible.
The ministry seeks an energetic, empathetic individual committed to supporting inclusive communities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, cultural awareness (especially of First Nations and Metis perspectives), and the ability to work respectfully with clients facing diverse challenges. A valid drivers license and willingness to travel are required.
Key qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work and related experience. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of social work principles, diversity and systemic issues, and relevant legislation and programs such as the Saskatchewan Assistance Act and Saskatchewan Income Support.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload, conducting assessments, developing individual program plans, providing counselling and referrals, monitoring service providers, and supporting community education. The role also involves mentoring new staff and practicum students. Work settings vary and may include office, virtual, and in-person environments.
