Description

We invite applicants to apply for a full-time temporary Family Support Worker position within our well known and well recognized Family Support Unit.

In this program, you will be responsible for supporting families within their home and throughout the community with a focus on family reunification, family preservation and family cohesion.

Working with families experiencing addiction, mental health needs, familial violence, housing/food insecurity and potential child protection involvement is a large part of this position.

We require someone that is empathetic and supports individuals and families with a strengths based, client centered approach while utilizing a trauma informed lens.

The main responsibilities of employees of this classification are to provide in-home support services to a limited number of families with children, facilitate parenting groups, and to provide assistance to families that will build on their strengths, enhance parent  child attachment and nurture day to day stability of the family.
